It is win or go home for both the San Francisco Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Giants won Game 6 by the final score of 6-1 forcing a Game 7.
If there is any team that knows about winning in Game 7 it is the St. Louis Cardinals who came back in dramatic fashion last year to win the World Series against the Texas Rangers.
The Cardinals also bounced back from a 6-0 deficit in the NLDS against the Washington Nationals in Game 5 to advance into the NLCS.
But these Giants are not the Rangers nor the Nationals. They can take advantage of errors and not give games right back. They came back from an 0-2 deficit against the Cincinnati Reds.
The Giants will have Matt Cain on the mound. He has not been at his best so far, but you can never count this hurler out. He has allowed three runs in all of his playoff starts this season and lost Game 3 after throwing 6.2 innings and only striking out two.
Opposing him will be Kyle Lohse who has pitched big games for the Cardinals so far in the playoffs.
The Giants have a red hot Marco Scutaro and Pablo Sandoval is swinging the bat well as they are making up for Hunter Pence's and Buster Posey's.
The Cardinals have been a polarizing team. They either score runs when they win or their bats get completely cold. In their victories, the Cardinals have score 17 runs. In their loses they have only scored two runs.
It will be interesting to see which Cardinals team shows up in Game 7. All hands are on deck on Monday night.
