The Baltimore Ravens have announced that they have resigned strong safety Will Hill to a two year contract extension.
The deal is reportedly worth $ 7 million, with $2.84 million guaranteed, and an extra $400,000 in incentives which makes this a pretty team friendly deal for the Ravens. Hill entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants in 2012. In his two seasons with the Giants he tallied 2 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, and 89 total tackles. He has been suspended several times, and received a six game suspension during the Giants 2014 season.
The Giants had enough of Hill's antics and released him. Baltimore in desperate need of safety health found a boon in Hill's ability to wrap up receivers and force turnovers. Hill seemed excited about his contract extension stating,
"It means a lot to me, just for this organization to even consider me for more years than what they planned to in the beginning of the offseason. When I first signed and I sat down with Ozzie, I knew from that point that I didn't want to go anywhere. I wanted to be a Raven, and this extension, it just helped out and it gives me a lot of confidence on the playing field and it helps me see what the organization thinks of me."
Hill will have a lot of work on his plate this season as he and Brynden Trawick are the only strong safeties on the roster.
