The New York Knicks will travel to Syracuse to take the court for their fifth of six exhibition games this preseason against the Philadelphia 76ers at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The game in Syracuse will be the return to home, in a sense, for Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony. Anthony arrived in Syracuse in 2002 as an 18-year-old kid out of the city of Baltimore. Nine months after his arrival he led Syracuse to an NCAA championship over Kansas University at the Superdome in New Orleans.

According to Mike Waters of The Post-Standard, Anthony is excited to make his return on the home court of his alma mater:

"It'll be good to get back,'' Anthony said prior to the Knicks' game against the Boston Celtics on Saturday in Albany. "I haven't been back there in quite a while. I remember the first preseason game when I first came out (in 2003) and we played. It'll be a great atmosphere. I'm looking forward to it.''

The Knicks will be without power forward Amar'e Stoudemire who is expected to miss the start of the regular season and be out two-three weeks because of an injured left knee.

Stoudemire had played in only one preseason game, sitting out the first two because of a bruised left knee. He scored 18 points Friday against Toronto in 27 minutes, then sat out again Saturday against Boston in Albany.
