The NY Yankees have Mark Teixeira dealing with a shin injury and manager Joe Girardi said that the first baseman could be out for a little while, as his injury is more serious than previously thought.
Teixeira reportedly has "no timetable to return," according to Hardball Talk and the first baseman will have to be on crutches for "a few days." Teixeira has been having a strong season for the Yankees and he now could be replaced by Greg Bird or A-Rod until he returns. Teixeira has played in 111 games and has hit 31 home runs with 79 RBI and his absence has been felt in the lineup.
Teixeira reportedly has a "deep bone bruise" and that could keep him out for a long stretch in September.
