Tigers vs. Giants Live Stream: Watch Free Online World Series Game 1 at 8 p.m. ET

Oct 24, 2012 07:28 PM EDT

Barry Zito will make his first start following his dazzling Game 5 NLCS performance against the St. Louis Cardinals. This is Game 1 of the World Series and we have a live stream available for you.

Zito will have the daunting task of pitching against the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers are 7-2 in the playoffs so far and they are coming off a sweep of the New York Yankees.

On the mound for the Tigers is Justin Verlander who is 3-0 in the playoffs so far sporting a miniscule 0.74 ERA in the postseason. Dating back to the regular season, he has won seven straight decisions. He has not lost a game since September 8.

The Giants have created a little streak of their own. They are winners of three straight against the defending champion Cardinals. They really had no choice. It was either win three straight or lose one of the games remaining and be eliminated from playoff contention.

Both series the Giants played went to the brink. They are 7-5 in the playoffs this season and in both series, they faced elimination six times.

Can Zito repeat his Game 5 NLCS performance? Can the Giants' nerves hold up if in case they fall behind in the series?

There is only one way to find out.

Watch the World Series Game 1, which will begin a little after 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
