The Green Bay Packers may look at signing James Jones as a free agent after he was cut by the NEw York Giants and he could be an option to help depth with Randall Cobb and Davante Adams after the injury to Jordy Nelson.
Jones signed with the Giants earlier in the summer, as the team wanted some depth with Victor Cruz sidelined. Jones was solid in the preseason and he spent last year with the Raiders after his time with the Packers. With Nelson out for the season and players like Ty Montgomery, Jeff Janis and Myles White inexperienced, there is a chance the Packers may want to sign Jones.
The Giants have Odell Beckham, Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle, Preston Parker, Geremy Davis and Dwayne Harris on the roster now. The Packers could look at signing Jones, who had a good rapport with Aaron Rodgers and had 14 touchdowns in the 2012 season. Jones is a dependable player and while he is not explosive like Cobb, he can be productive. Last season he was targeted over 100 times and made 73 catches for the Raiders. The Carolina Panthers also could be interested.
Jones played in all 16 games last season and had six touchdowns and 666 yards receiving. In his last season with the Packers, Jones had 59 catches for 817 yards and three touchdowns. His best season with the team came in 2012 with the 14 touchdowns and 64 catches for 784 yards.

The injury to Nelson was a major blow for the Packers, but the team was optimistic since they still had Cobb ready to go. But soon after Nelson was injured, Cobb suffered a shoulder sprain in the next preseason game and that gave the team a scare. Luckily, NFL.com reports that the sprain was "minor" and Cobb reportedly told the Green Bay Press-Gazette that he doesn't "plan on missing a game."
Adams is a sleeper player for fantasy and Adams played in all 16 games last season and had 38 catches for 446 yards and even before Nelson was injured Adams was expected to get a lot more work this season for the Packers. Adams had over 20 touchdowns in his final year in college and he could be a great deep threat alongside Cobb.
Eddie Lacy comes into this season as one of the best starter options in fantasy, as he should get a ton of work behind Rodgers on offense. Lacy played in all 16 games last season and rushed for 1139 yards and in his career he has missed only one game over the last two seasons. Lacy has 20 touchdowns in the last two years and he will be a workhorse once again for the Pack. Lacy also has shown that he can be a good receiver out of the backfield, setting a career high with 42 catches last season.
