The Baltimore Ravens will look to find some playmakers in the first game of the season. Wide receiver Steve Smith is probably the best known wide out currently playing in the lineup. Kamar Aiken, Marlon Brown, and Michael Campanaro will all start alongside Steve Smith and will look to breakout in the Ravens passing game.
The Broncos have one of the best defensive backfields in the NFL and will test these young, unknown Ravens wide receivers. The Broncos have a new coach (Gary Kubiak) and will take a different approach to the game; they will try to solidify the run. The Broncos will use a combination of C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman to wear down the Ravens defense. Kubiak will then let Peyton and Demaryius Thomas do what they do best....make big plays.
Playmakers to watch out for:
Justin Forsett: Forsett will get the start and should have a large amount of touches considering his primary backup is still injured. If Forsett can run like he did in 2014 the Broncos could be in for a long game.
Demaryius Thomas: Thomas is the biggest passing target the Broncos have and will likely command the most attention. If anyone can bring Peyton back to his original form, it is Thomas.
Peyton Manning: Manning is 39 and is seemingly close to retirement, however that does not mean he has nothing left in the tank. Manning will need to turn back the clock just for a season if the Broncos want to contend for a Super Bowl.
Steve Smith SR: Smith is in his last year before retirement and will look to make it a memorable one. Smith is the only known commodity in the Ravens passing offense and will likely be targeted more than any other receiver. He will have to deliver if the Ravens are going to outscore the Broncos.
