Manchester United Transfer News: Darren Fletcher Aiming for One More Win in the Champions League; Happy with Progress After Comeback

Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher is confident of sealing progress into the knockout rounds of the Champions League by clinching one more victory - ideally against Braga in the reverse fixture.

United made hard work of claiming their third straight victory in Europe, coming from two goals down to win 3-2 and take total control of their group with nine points from three games.

It was not the same situation last year, when United tumbled out after the group stages, in what then, like the current one, seemed a relatively easy group.

"After last year the aim was to get ourselves through the group as quickly as possible," the defensive midfielder told the club's official website. "One more victory should see us through and hopefully we can do it in the next game in Braga with two games to spare.

"If you take away the first 20 minutes when we went 2-0 down it was a good performance.

"People will talk about slow starts and giving away early goals but the fact we came back to win showed great character. Nevertheless, we know we can't keep doing it (giving away early goals).

United have given away the lead in eight of their last 12 games this season.

However, on the brighter side, Fletcher made his third full appearance since returning from the chronic bowel condition that kept him out for much of last season, and the Scottish international is happy with his comeback so far and hopes to get many more games under his belt.

"I feel fine," he added. "It was good to get another 90 minutes under my belt and the more of them I get the better I'll feel. I'm fully aware there is huge competiton for places in midfield.

"I've just got to get as many minutes under my belt as I can and keep taking my opportunities when they come.

"There is great competition for places all over the pitch and the more of us that can stay fit the better it will be (for the team in the long run)."

United next face Chelsea in a crunch game of the English Premier League on Sunday.
