The Dallas Cowboys came on to the field Sunday the favorites to win however they played as if they won the game early. Dallas took a small lead in the first quarter however a fumble by Cole Beasley swung the momentum in the Giants favor.
The fumble was returned for a touchdown along with another Cowboys turnover later in the game. The Giants scored the majority of their points off of takeaways that were simply caused by a lack of concentration on the part of the Cowboys.
The Giants played especially conservative in the red zone settling for field goals when a touchdown was in reach. The Giants inexplicably allowed the Cowboys back into the game late into the fourth quarter when Eli Manning threw the ball out of bounds from the Dallas 1 yard line on 3rd down when the Giants were only up by 3 points.
This gave the Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys the last 1:34 seconds to come up with a game winning drive. Romo has gotten a lot of criticism in the past for not being as clutch as his peers in the NFL however the statistics actually put him amongst the most elite at orchestrating fourth quarter comebacks. Since becoming the Cowboys starting quarterback in 2006, Tony Romo has had 24 fourth quarter comebacks officially giving him more than any other quarterback in that time frame.
The Cowboys will need to lean on Romo as they have lost their biggest weapon in Dez Bryant for at least a month. The Cowboys will head to Philadelphia next week which will be one of the biggest rivalry games all season long.
