St. Louis Rams
Kenny Britt/Tavon Austin/Brian Quick (Wide Receivers): The Rams wide receivers have danger signs written all over them. The only one who has mattered in the slightest is Tavon Austin. Austin is a freak athlete who can be utilized as a running back out of the spread. He is great for gadget plays and PPR and with such a strong showing in his first game against the Seahawks it makes you wonder if bigger and better things are awaiting him. Austin is a flex option this week.
Tre Mason/ Benny Cunningham/ Todd Gurley (Running Backs): Benny Cunningham has been leading the way for the Rams in the rushing game because Tre Mason was sidelined with an injury and Gurley is recovering from one. Now in week 2 we hear rumblings about Gurley preparing to return this week with a limited snap count or next week ready to go. Mason is the wild card because he missed week 1 and will likely split carries with Cunningham. I like the matchup but you should probably sit all of these running backs.
Jared Cook (Tight End): Cook had a solid amount of points in week 1 establishing himself as Rams main passing weapon. Cook could put up more points against the Redskins in week 2. He is a solid TE2 start.
Washington Redskins
Pierre Garcon/Ryan Grant/Andre Roberts (Wide Receivers): Without DeSean Jackson this Redskins passing game is pretty toothless. Gracon who will become the starter had a good showing last weekend but had some costly drops. Grant remained pretty much invisible, and Roberts was pretty average. Only Garcon could potentially be a flex starter, but sitting all of the Redskins wide receivers seems to make more sense.
Jordan Reed (Tight End): Reed proved to be the best passing option last week and should continue to do so as long as Jackson is out. Reed is injury prone and could go down during the game but he is a solid TE2 start.
Alfred Morris/Matt Jones (Running Back): Morris had a typical game in week 1 and considering the Redskins were getting pummeled for most of it, this does not surprise anyone however what was surprising is how much Morris did and how little Jones even saw the field. Jones was slated to take over the running game in Washington in preseason however that just has not come to fruition. Morris will be a solid flex start in week 2.
