Houston Texans
DeAndre Hopkins (Wide Receiver): Hopkins finished with one of the best receiving performances of the week. He ended week 1 with 98 yards going 9/13, brought in 2 touchdowns, and got a 2 point conversion. Hopkins is a must start against the Panthers especially if their missing Luke Kuechly.
Alfred Blue/Jonathan Grimes/Chris Polk (Running Back): Blue, Grimes, and Polk all underachieved handing in performances that all tallied less than 50 yards. None of these running backs should start against the Panthers.
Carolina Panthers
Corey Brown/Jerricho Cotchery/Ted Ginn/Devin Funchess(Wide Receiver): What a confusing bunch of wide receivers, all offseason Devin Funchess was the second coming of Kelvin Benjamin until week 1 when he put up a dud. Now Carolina's receiving game looks like a terrible game of musical chairs with Jerricho Cotchery landing the touchdown. None of these wide receivers should be owned or started yet.
Jonathan Stewart (Running Back): Stewart finished with 18 carries however only managed to rack up 56 yards. He also tallied 4 catches for 25 yards which is also mildly impressive however he is not playing like a lead back. Instead he is playing like a backup and with his injury history owners should be weary of playing him against such a stout defensive line. Stewart is a definite sit this week.
Greg Olsen (Tight End): Olsen also surprised owners by putting up absolutely no points in week 1. Olsen finished with 1 catch out of 3 targets and had a touchdown called back. Olsen was viewed as one of the best tight ends in the league and in the draft however after that week 1 performance owners should be concerned.
Cam Newton (Quarterback): Newton finished the game handing in a particularly average night. He finished the week going 18/31 from the field for 175 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Newton added 35 yards rushing to his total. Going up against the Texans tough defense his is a sit this week.
