After going 0-2 the Seahawks needed a shot in the arm to get things going.
This might come from the return of Kam Chancellor the Legion of Boom's unquestioned leader. Without Chancellor the Seahawks have been operating with a gaping hole inside their secondary. Teams have been able to pass on them with consistency and fluidity making their defense look uncharacteristically weak. With Chancellor's return will look to set the tone for the rest of the season.
Even starting safety Earl Thomas stated that Chancellor was the one who lined the Legion up in the correct defensive sets and set the tone with his passion for the game.
Chancellor was holding out for a bigger contract however the Seahawks brass would not budge considering they resigned both Bobby Wagner and Russell Wilson. Chancellor has been gone long enough to prove a point, and that point is without him the Seahawks are vulnerable.
The team has already been feeling the effects of the loss of Max Unger to the Saints as defenses are getting penetration through the offensive line to stop the run. This has made things harder for Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson so the defense needs to be the backbone of this team.
