DeMarco Murray has had a tough outing in week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys and by the end of the game his frustration was palpable. The Eagles struggled to run the ball all game and their rushing average was absolutely horrific.
His injury in practice should only make things worse. Murray suffered a hamstring injury on Wednesday in practice and the Eagles have been very tight lipped about his availability. Murray needed an MRI on his hamstring which could mean a more serious injury than previously thought.
He has been labeled as questionable for this week 3 contest and if he cannot play that will be a big blow to this Philadelphia offense. The Eagles have yet to fully realize what Chip Kelly's vision of this offense is, now with Philadelphia facing an 0-3 start losing Murray could be the end of the Eagles playoff hopes.
The Eagles sunk a ton of Murray so his value on this team should not be underestimated. The Eagles paid just about the same amount of money they would have paid LeSean McCoy for Murray and Mathews and so far have not been a good investment. If Murray can play he will most certainly be on a snap count.
