The San Francisco Giants will look to close out the World Series in Game 4 against the Detroit Tigers tonight. First pitch is at 8:07 p.m. ET on the dot.
The Tigers are losing because they have not been hitting. The Giants have shut them out in 18 consecutive innings after winning the last two games by the score of 2-0.
The Tigers pitching has kept the Giants offense on lock after Game 1 when Pablo Sandoval went insane and blasted three shots.
Doug Fister battled after taking a liner off his head and Anibal Sanchez also hung in there and pitched a great game.
The hitters they brought on in Game 3 to fight right handed pitching failed them miserably.
Quentin Berry and Andy Dirks combined for an 0-6 night with three strikeouts, eight runners left on base and a walk.
Miguel Cabrera left the bases loaded and the Tigers hit into two big double plays to kill any chance of having rallies.
Things get worse for the Tigers as Matt Cain takes the mound for the Giants. He has taken the mound when the Giants clinched their previous two series to get them into the World Series.
He went 5.2 innings against the Cincinnati Reds and allowed three runs in Game 5 for the win and then shutout the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 7 of the NLCS.
The Giants need one win to take it all for the second time in three years.
