Green Bay Packers Rumors: Davante Adams, Andrew Quarless Out Week 4, Ty Montgomery, Richard Rodgers Fantasy Sleepers as Eddie Lacy, James Starks Help Aaron Rodgers

The Green Bay Packers continue to deal with injuries, but remain at the top of the football power rankings according to ESPN. Many people were ready to write the team off when Jordy Nelson suffered a season-ending injury, but the Packers weathered that storm. They likely will take the same approach as both Davante Adams and Andrew Quarless are expected to miss time on the field with injuries.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, Quarless suffered an MCL sprain that will leave him out for the next six weeks. The tight end saw his first real taste of action this season against the Kansas City Chiefs and took a hit to his knee that will leave him out for the foreseeable future. Quarless was hoping for a different outcome this season. He lost the starting job to Richard Rodgers and had yet to have a pass thrown his way until Week 3 of the season. The injury is certainly a setback.

Adams is also expected to miss time. The wide receiver was listed as doubtful entering Week 3 after suffering an ankle injury, but managed to start the game anyways. However, he re-injured the game in the first quarter against Kansas City and now might really need to rest. ESPN is reporting the wide receiver is not expected to play in Week 4 as the Packers cannot risk the injury getting worse.

With Nelson out, Adams is the No.2 guy behind Randall Cobb which puts stress on an already depleted rotation. In his place, Ty Montgomery will be stepping up big time. The wide receiver got his first touchdown of his NFL career on Monday night as he and James Jones picked up the slack with Adams out. That turned out to be enough for Green Bay and they have to hope things stay that way moving forward.

"With that situation, Ty's a great kid," Rodgers said via the team website. He's got a bright future for us. He has a great disposition and attitude about the game. He's hungry to learn and get better. And it's good moments like that where he can hear from me how we're expecting that route to be run. That's when you can really lock that away and make some gains."

The Packers will likely also use Eddie Lacy and James Starks in passing situations as well. Both running backs have proven to be quality pass catches for Green Bay moving forward and they can count on that role expanding moving forward if injuries continue to pile up.
