NFL Fantasy Football Week 4: Drew Brees Starts For Saints, DeMarco Murray Likely Plays For Eagles, Marshawn Lynch Out For Seahawks?

Oct 02, 2015 04:52 PM EDT

The NFL schedule is into Week 4 and some of the top fantasy football headlines include whether Drew Brees, DeMarco Murray and Marshawn Lynch will be active this weekend. Brees looks like he will be ready to go, while Murray was able to practice on Thursday, but Lynch will be a game time decision for the Seahawks on Monday night football.

Brees missed the game last week with a shoulder injury and he is looking like he will be starting on Sunday for the Saints. According to Pro Football Talk, Brees threw in practice this week and head coach Sean Payton said the team is "planning on starting" Brees for Week 4. Luke McCown actually had a solid game for the Saints in Week 3, but the team is obviously much better off with Brees under center.

The Saints take on the Cowboys this week and it could have been a matchup of backups with Brandon Weeden starting, if Brees did not play. Weeden is starting for Tony Romo, who will be out for a stretch with a fractured clavicle. The Saints need a win badly and getting Brees back in any capacity will be a huge help. Brees has two touchdowns and two interceptions this season in two games.

DeMarco Murray looks like he will be able to go in Week 4 after missing Week 3 for the Eagles, as he has been dealing with a hamstring injury this season. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Murray was a full participant in practice on Thursday and he was also able to practice in full on Friday. That is a positive step for Murray and the Eagles would be happy to have him back against the Redskins.

Murray has had a very tough start to the season with just 11 yards on 21 carries and the Eagles need to get him going. Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles stepped up last week and even if Murray is a full go on Sunday, expect those two to get some work also. Murray is looking better to play this week than he did last week, as he was able to get some practice work in, but was later held out of the game against the Jets.

Marshawn Lynch is dealing with a hamstring issue and there ios a chance he could be out for Week 4 against the Lions on Monday night. According to the Seattle Times and KIRO, Pete Carroll said that the decision on Lynch likely will be a game time decision. Fantasy owners likely can't rely on Lynch this week unless they have Thomas Rawls, as if he is out, fantasy owners will be left with few options by Monday night.

Rawls is a solid option for any league right now, as he put up over 100 yards last week and is worth handcuffing to Lynch. Lynch played in Week 3 and had 14 yards against the Chicago Bears, but he had to come out with an injury. The Seahawks have Rawls behind Lynch and he comes in after putting up 104 yards against the Bears.
