The Baltimore Ravens suffered some notable injuries in their gritty week 4 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ravens wide receiver Michael Campanaro suffered a herniated disk in the victory after being one of Joe Flacco's most reliable targets throughout the game. Campanaro was placed on injured reserve effectively ending his season which makes the Ravens razor thin at wide receiver. First round pick Breshad Perriman is out indefinitely after having surgery on his PCL.
Perriman was working back from a knee injury however he aggravated it during week 3 warm ups, this makes the loss of Campanaro absolutely crushing.
The Ravens also lost Steve Smith with four broken ribs that held him out of the rest of the game. Now it appears the Ravens have traded for a wide receiver as they need to find some weapons for Joe Flacco if they want to continue to win games. The Ravens acquired St. Louis Rams wide receiver Chris Givens in exchange for a future seventh round pick.
Givens is an explosive wide receiver who can get down the field in a hurry however he was on the bottom of the Rams depth chart at wide receiver. Now Givens should have an opportunity to make an impact on this Ravens season by giving Joe Flacco a deep play threat.
