Arsenal will look to banish the demons of the 8-2 demolition of last year when Arsene Wenger takes the Gunners to Old Trafford to face Manchester United and Robin Van Persie.
The game will be doubly interesting with the Van Persie factor -- the striker making an acrimonious move from Arsenal to United in the summer after refusing to sign a new contract.
While both Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson have asked the fans to treat the prolific Dutchman with respect, it remains to be seen what sort of reception the 29-year-old will receive from the Arsenal away fans.
Wenger is convinced the Old Trafford defeat is well behind the Gunners, and the result will not be on their minds on Saturday. "Honestly, it didn't affect us," Wenger said. "It affected maybe more our environment. You feel humiliated after the game but after that, the next game when you win, you don't focus on that.
"I think it's when you lose a big game like that in the way we did it, it is to get over the hurdle in the next three weeks. Once you've got over that... well, the mood in the camp is always a consequence of the last result."
Wenger also does not believe the loss was his worst in his 16 years at Arsenal. "It was not the best, that is for sure, but it is not the worst for sure," he added. "The worst is when you lose the Champions League final in the last minute of a game and that has real meaning.
"There is purely an emotional aspect in the 8-2 but there is no mathematical consequence. We lost a game that is all.
"Of course you want your fans to be proud and happy and you know that they will be hurt deeply (by a heavy defeat). But the football aspect was easy to explain. We gave everything in Udinese three days before in 35 degrees at night and I knew that we would be dead.
"We lost vital defensive players in that game. We went out very exposed but the most important game of the week was at Udinese."
Arsenal will be without Gervinho, who has been ruled out for three weeks with an ankle problem, while the likes of Kieran Gibbs, Abou Diaby and Wojciech Szczesny remain out.
For Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed their captain Nemanja Vidic will not return before Christmas. The center-back was ruled out for at least eight weeks after undergoing knee surgery in September, but Ferguson now admitted his return would take a lot longer than expected.
"I think we're talking around December for Vidic." Ferguson told the club's official website. "Maybe around Christmas time."
Van Persie will know all eyes will be on him at Old Trafford -- how he reacts to it might just make all the difference.
