Chelsea will look to maintain their position at the top of the table, which has been whittled down to just one point, when they take on Swansea city at the Liberty Stadium.

The Blues are coming off the back of a controversial 3-2 loss to Manchester United, even if they might have gained a measure of revenge through the 5-4 League Cup win, and Roberto Di Matteo will ask for nothing less than three points from his side.

"Swansea still have the same philosophy in keeping a lot of possession, but I think they are a bit more clinical now compared with the last couple of seasons when they had a lot of possession but didn't create too many chances," Di Matteo said.

"They go forward a little bit quicker now and score a few more goals than the past, at least in the early stages of the season."

The Italian manager will have a few injury issues, with Frank Lampard ruled out and John Terry serving the last of his four-match suspension. To make matters worse, Juan Mata and David Luiz are doubts for the game with hamstring and ankle issues respectively.

"From the last few games and with the extra time we played we have a few others that have niggling injuries as well," Di Matteo said. "Mata and David Luiz are very doubtful."

Ashley Cole, however, has recovered from the knock he picked up against United last weekend, with Branislav Ivanovic and Fernando Torres expected to return after serving a one-match suspension.

Swansea, though, are easily capable of causing an upset, particularly at their home ground, where they beat the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal last season.

Michael Laudrup will want his players to continue the momentum gained by the impressive 3-1 win over Liverpool at the weekend.
