Roberto Mancini will try to keep the off-field issues of his reported exit and the arrival of Pep Guardiola in the back burner, as Manchester City face West Ham United in Saturday's English Premier League game.
Upton Park is never an easy place to play, with Sam Allardyce sure to take advantage of every opportunity to bombard the City box.
Mancini will want his players to concentrate on what could be a crucial three points, instead of keeping their minds on the Italian's planned exit to Monaco last year or the reports of the arrival of former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola next season.
Carlos Tevez was the hero for City last weekend, scoring a peach of a goal to give his side a hard-fought 1-0 win over Swansea, and the Argentine will be keen to continue his good form against his former club West Ham.
"I have very, very good memories because it was my first club in Europe," Tevez told the club's official website. "The truth is that I'm very happy to be returning to the club that you could say was my 'birthplace.'
"I feel very happy in general."
Tevez knows the importance of continuing to pick up three points in what promises to be a close-run chase for the English Premier League title this season. "Having played very badly at Ajax we had to wake up, play better and win which was the most important thing," he added. "It's been four or five games since I scored and scoring always gives you a lot of confidence.
"I think we are trying to get over the bad moment lived in Ajax and the victory on Saturday gives us a bit more breathing space.
"Now we have quite a few difficult back to back games and we need to have our heads together for these."
David Silva is still a week away from making his return, but Pablo Zabaleta is expected to be named in the starting lineup. Javi Garcia might also be available, but Maicon continues to recover from injury.
In team news for the home side, Ricardo Vaz Te, Alou Diarra, Mathew Taylor and Jack Collison are out injured, while Guy Demel is expected to return.
