Arizona Cardinals
Carson Palmer (Quarterback): Palmer had another terrific week as he torched the Lions defense for 161 yards, 3 touchdowns, and went 11 of 14 from the field. Palmer has been on target all season and should have an easy matchup coming up in week 6.
Chris Johnson/Andre Ellington/David Johnson (Running Back): Chris Johnson has made his way back from free agency to be one of the best rushers in the NFL (currently). Johnson amassed 103 yards on 11 carries which is pretty rare production. Johnson has shown that he is still the same impactful rusher he has been his entire career and is currently looking at a true contract extension from the Cardinals. Ellington finally saw the field as he returns from injury. He had 3 carries however 1 of those carries went for 63 yards and a touchdown. Ellington is still getting healthy but with explosive running like that it is only a matter of time before he returns to his starting role. D. Johnson has had a touchdown in every game this season making him one of the highest scoring running backs in fantasy football. D. Johnson finished the Cardinals week 5 game with 3 carries for 6 yards and 2 touchdowns. David Johnson still has a way to go before becoming a starter but he is a solid goal line back for the Cardinals.
John Brown/Larry Fitzgerald (Wide Receiver): Brown had a superb game going 4/4 from the field for 73 yards and a touchdown. Brown finally out played Larry Fitzgerald this season as Fitzgerald has been an absolute black hole for targets. Fitzgerald still had a great day ending the game catching 5 out of 7 targets for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Detroit Lions
Ameer Abdullah/Zach Zenner (Running Back): The Lions cannot run the ball and they can barely pass it. Abdullah was benched for fumbling but how can he not if every play the Cardinals are getting penetration and meeting Lion's backs behind the line of scrimmage. The Lions running game is a signal for this entire team to wake up. Abdullah finished the game with 6 carries that gained 17 yards and caught 1 out of 2 targets for 9 yards. Zenner did not do much better and ended his day with 10 carries for 30 yards and also caught 1 out of 2 passes for 7 yards. This was the Cardinals defense but it was a terrible showing by this Lions team.
Golden Tate/Calvin Johnson/Lance Moore (Wide Receivers): Tate finally had a better day than Calvin Johnson finishing the day catching 8 out of 18 targets for 74 yards and had 1 carry for 8 yards and a lost fumble. Tate has been invisible all season long and as long as Matt Stafford continues to struggle so will the passing game. Johnson has been a pretty big disappointment so far and week 5 was no exception. Johnson caught 5 out of 7 targets for 67 yards. Lance Moore was the only Lions wide receiver who found the end zone as he went 6 of 8 from the field for 55 yards and a touchdown.
