The Notre Dame Fighting Irish hit the football field against the Pittsburgh Panthers at 3:30 p.m. ET and they will put their perfect 8-0 record on the line.
The Fighting Irish defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in their Week 9 meeting. They continue to win games with their suffocating defense that is only allowing 9.9 points per game, which is good for second in the FBS.
This great defense has them ranked third in the nation coming into this meeting.
It takes a lot of pressure of their quarterback Everett Golson who only has thrown for four touchdowns on 1,145 passing yards. Theo Reddick has 525 yards rushing and four touchdowns, while Tyler Eifert has three receiving touchdowns on 341 yards.
As you can see, their offense is not that mighty, so if you can score on them chances are they will not be catching up if down by a lot of points.
Pittsburgh comes into this matchup with a 4-4 record. So if it was based off just numbers, Notre Dame should have an easy time getting this victory.
However, they will have to stop the 30th best passing game in the FBS as Pittsburgh is averaging 281.5 yards. They also average 29 points a game.
It will be interesting to see if there is a team that can knockout the perfect Fighting Irish.
