Atlanta Falcons News: Julio Jones to Miss Thursday Game for Matt Ryan?

Oct 13, 2015 07:45 PM EDT

Julio Jones and the Atlanta Falcons are walking a fine line when it comes to their unbeaten record. There have been several games that they should have lost however they rallied deep down to get the job done. Now they may need to do this without their star player, Julio Jones.

Jones has injuries to his hamstring and toes and has been on the Falcons injury report for some time now. The Falcons seem to be labeling him questionable for this game however as long as Jones can walk he will attempt to play.

Shutting down Julio Jones for a week or two may seem like a dumb idea but consider the alternative. If Julio plays and gets injured but this time severely thanks to the wear and tear on his hamstring or feet the Falcons will not have the option of having their star player in the fold. With such an emphasis on running the ball you would think that the Falcons would have no problem saying to Julio, "we got this, go heal up".

Jones will likely miss practice all week as the Falcons attempt to control his reps to keep him as healthy as possible for Thursday's contest. Of all the games to sit him it would be Thursday against the horrifically bad New Orleans Saints.
