NFL Results: Final Score Steelers Win 24-20 Over the Giants

Nov 04, 2012 07:37 PM EST

The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the New York Giants 24-20 as they scored a touchdown late in the game to take the victory.

Isaac Redman ran a one-yard touchdown in with just a little over four minutes left in the game, giving the Steelers the late lead.

Prior to this score, Ben Roethlisberger threw  a touchdown pass to Mike Wallace that went for 51-yards.

By this point momentum had swung the Steelers way as their defense did the rest to keep them in the game.

The Giants finished the game on three, three-and-outs.

New York looked like they had this one on lock early, but they simply could not score late in the game.

The Giants scored 14 unanswered points in the 2nd quarter after the Steelers put up seven points.

In reality it looked like the Giants got lucky with a few calls during their drives.

There was a personal foul penalty called on 3rd & Goal as Victor Cruz was laid out in the end zone. Following the call, Andre Brown then ran it in for the touchdown, but it did not look like the ball crossed the plain for the score.

One referee had it about a foot out of the end zone, but another signaled the touchdown. They reviewed it and though it never looked like the ball ever made it to the goal line, the call remained a touchdown.

The Giants defense showed up again as Osi Umenyiora forced a fumble and Michael Boley ran it back after the Steelers had great field position following a great return from Rainey.

Lawrence Tynes had three field goals after missing a 51-yard field goal.

Speaking of field goals, the Steelers had the chance to tie the game with about 11 minutes to play in the fourth quarter, but they tried to trick the Giants and it failed.

The Steelers keep pace with the Baltimore Ravens as they are 5-3 and still in second place just a game behind first place.

The Giants are still in first place and are now 6-3.
