Cleveland Browns Rumors: Johnny Manziel Released After Season? Robert Turbin Pushes Isaiah Crowell, Duke Johnson Battle as Dwayne Bowe, Brian Hartline Out

Just as Johnny Manziel appeared to be headed in the right direction, the quarterback fell off track once again. After spending the summer in a rehab facility, Manziel came back and impressed plenty of people in training camp. He even earned a few starts over Josh McCown and recorded a win for the team. However, after getting pulled over during a domestic argument and admitting to drinking, Manziel finds himself in hot water once again as the quarterback's future remains uncertain.

Manziel was active in the game against the Denver Broncos following a run in with the police after witnesses say the quarterback and his girlfriend were arguing on the side of the road. According to CBS News, Manziel admitted that he had consumed alcohol before the argument. Manziel was not arrest nor is his girlfriend planning on pressing charges according to the report, but the situation is not a positive step for the quarterback with the Browns. Head coach Mike Pettine declined to comment on the situation before the game against Denver.

"I don't want to say anything today," Pettine said, via ESPN.com. "I mean, we're just coming off the heels of a ... I've got guys in that locker room that just played their tails off and came up short. We'll have plenty of time during the week to talk about it."

It is fair to question what kind of future Manziel has with the Browns. Right now, he and McCown are the best options at quarterback for the remainder of the year, but what happens after that? McCown is not the long-term quarterback option and according to CBS analyst Bill Cowher, Manziel is not either. The former NFL coach said the Browns should simply cut ties with Manziel as these incidents continue to pop up.

"I would ask for his release and I would do it for this reason: in that locker room players want accountability ... and that's the message that needs to be sent right here, that you're accountable for your actions both on the field and off the field," Cowher said, via CBS Sports.

For now the Browns do not foresee this as a major issue and could simply continue on as planned. They are fresh off a defeat from Denver and need some kind of positive moment. The Browns are not getting the production they wanted out of a lot of players right now. Dwayne Bowe was not active once again as Pettine claims it was become of injury. Robert Turbin made a positive impression in his first game for the team. The running back got 10 carries for 27 yards and told the media he wants the starting job in Week 7.

"I did it in high school and college," Turbin said, via Cleveland.com. "Seattle was just different. I was younger in my career and I was new. There were things I wanted to do and I had a certain budget. I feel like this is going to be my team."
