The New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers meet tonight at the Wells Fargo Center. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. ET.
Don't worry. You are not going crazy. You are reading correctly. The Knicks and Six ers are hooking up for another game despite facing each other Sunday afternoon.
It must feel like a playoff series for these players.
If this were a series, the Knicks would be leading 1-0 after handing the 76ers a 100-84 loss yesterday.
Carmelo Anthony was the leading scorer for the Knicks with 27 points and Jrue Holiday matched this total for the 76ers.
The biggest difference was bench scoring. J.R. Smtih came out on a mission, despite playing sloppy basketball and getting yelled at by his coach. He dropped 20 points, going 4-5 from three-point range.
J.R. Smith almost singlehandedly outscored the entire Sixers' bench as Nick Young, Dorell Wright and Spencer Hawes combined to score 24 points.
The Knicks' defense also showed up as Anthony had two of the five Knick blocks and Jason Kidd, who finished the night with 12 points and six assists, had three of the teams' 12 steals.
With all the competition in the Eatern Conference, it would be good for the 76ers to tie the season series at 1-1. The Atlantic Division is super competitive and the funny thing is that the Knicks are not even 100% healthy on defense.
On the other hand, the Knicks are gunning for the 0-2 lead against the Sixers before Andrew Bynum comes back and creates havoc for the 76ers' opponents.
