NY Giants Rumors: Victor Cruz Returns For Cowboys Game After Injury? Jason Pierre-Paul Not Ready, Odell Beckham Best Fantasy Option

The New York Giants are hoping to have Victor Cruz back from a calf injury soon, but reports have the wide receiver not ready to return for Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants have Odell Beckham as the top fantasy football start option for Eli Manning, while Tom Coughlin said that Jason Pierre-Paul has not made his return to the team yet.

The Giants are coming off of an ugly loss against the Philadelphia Eagles and the team now has the Dallas Cowboys on the schedule for Sunday in Week 7. Beckham has been dealing with a hamstring injury and according to Dan Graziano at ESPN, Beckham was listed on the injury report along with Rueben Randle, who also suffered a hamstring injury. Both players were active in Week 6 against the Eagles and depending on how they practice it's likely that they will play against the Cowboys.

The Giants are hoping that both players can play this week, as Victor Cruz is still not ready to return from his injury. According to the New York Post, Cruz will have an MRI on his calf on Wednesday and depending on the results, the team could figure a timetable for his return. Cruz dealt with a knee injury last year and missed most of the season and just as he was ready to return in the preseason, Cruz suffered a calf injury.

Ian Rapoport at NFL.com reports that Cruz is "not expected" to play against the Cowboys on Sunday and that he is "feeling better" heading into Week 7. The Bergen County Record reported last week that Cruz is not feeling any more pain in his calf and that could lead to the wide receiver getting back to practice soon. The Giants may target Week 8 against the Saints as a potential return date for Cruz if the MRI comes back clean. Cruz had a plasma injection over two weeks ago and that has helped speed up the recovery process.

The Giants are still waiting for Jason Pierre-Paul to come back in the fold and there were reports last week that he was going to meet with the team to "follow-up" on his hand injury recovery. The Post reports that JPP has not yet come in for that meeting and the team has yet to determine whether the defensive end will play this season.

The Giants have Will Beatty in practice heading into Week 7 and that means the team has three weeks to bring him back to the active roster. Beatty has been dealing with an injury since the offseason and he now has a three week window to come back, as Dan Graziano reports that he is doing individual work in practice with the team on Wednesday. Beckham remains the most consistent fantasy option for the Giants and he comes in with 38 catches for 498 yards in six games this season.
