The NFL Week 7 injury report has Arian Foster out with a potential torn Achilles and if that is confirmed by tests, Foster will be out for the season for the Texans. Other players with injuries on Sunday included Ryan Kerrigan, Matthew Stafford, Josh McCown, Joseph Randle, Nick Mangold, Vincent Jackson and Leonard Hankerson.
Foster was injured in the fourth quarter against the Miami Dolphins and it came on a non-contact injury to his lower leg. According to ESPN.com, Adam Schefter reports that the initial fear is that Foster suffered an Achilles injury and may have torn the tendon. Foster had 18 carries for 59 yards along with five catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns in the game before getting injured.
Foster missed time earlier in the season with a groin injury and now he could be out for the season if he tore his Achilles. The Texans lost Foster when they were getting blown out 44-20 against the Dolphins. Schefter reports that a team source said that the injury to Foster is an Achilles injury. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also reported that Foster has an Achilles tear and that would put Foster out for the season after playing in three games.
Foster missed three games in 2014 and eight games in 2013 and now he will be done for the 2015 season. Foster had 104 rushing yards and 17 receptions for 161 yards coming into the game on Sunday. Alfred Blue will likely be the starting running back with Foster out and he comes in with 226 yards this season. Foster rushed for over 1200 yards last season and had eight touchdowns in 13 games.
Josh McCown had to leave the game late against the St. Louis Rams for the Cleveland Browns and he suffered a shoulder injury. According to NFL.com, Johnny Manziel replaced McCown and it came after McCown reached for his shoulder and headed to the locker room. McCown reportedly had x-rays on the shoulder and he had 270 passing yards in the game.
Joseph Randle had to leave the game against the New York Giants with a back sprain and the injury was not considered to be a serious one. Leonard Hankerson is dealing with a hamstring injury and he had to leave the game for the Falcons. Matthew Stafford is dealing with a left hand injury and he had x-rays after the game for the Detroit Lions. Ryan Kerrigan had a hand injury on Sunday, while Nick Mangold suffered a neck injury for the Jets.
