NFL Week 8 Fantasy Preview: Detroit Lions at Kansas City Chiefs, Calvin Johnson, Ameer Abdullah, Eric Ebron, Jeremy Maclin, Travis Kelce

Detroit Lions

Calvin Johnson (Wide Receiver): Johnson is starting to hit his stride as the Lions are starting to gel more than they did in the beginning of the season. Johnson should have a good matchup against a Kansas City defense that has given up the most points to wide receivers in the entire league.

Ameer Abdullah/Joique Bell/ Theo Riddick (Running Back): The Chiefs defense is absolutely brutal on opposing running backs making it nearly impossible for them pick up any relative fantasy points. That and the combination that this Lions rushing attack has yet to get anything going against any defense makes all of these players a tough sell to start.

Eric Ebron (Tight End): Ebron is a huge playmaker who is averaging around 4 targets a game. He has seen the end zone in 3 out of 5 games but Kansas City has been incredibly good at stopping the production of tight ends. Ebron is a low RB2 headed into this matchup.

Kansas City Chiefs

Jeremy Maclin (Wide Receiver): Maclin is practicing in full on Wednesday so it is safe to say he will be a solid start for most fantasy teams. Detroit gives up the fourth most fantasy points to wide receivers so for Maclin this should be a big game.

Charcandrick West (Running Back):  Last week was West's first 100 yard performance and first NFL touchdown so I would not get overly excited in week 8. West should have a good matchup as the Lions give up a ton of touchdowns to running backs but better to be cautious than crazy.

Travis Kelce (Tight End): Kelce is a solid start this week as Detroit has given up the 10 most fantasy points to tight ends and Kelce has been rolling in his last two games. Kelce sees around 6 targets a game which is more than enough to see him getting into the end zone.
