The Minnesota Vikings saw Teddy Bridgewater leave the win against the Rams with a concussion, but the quarterback is expected to be fine for Week 10. Stefon Diggs was able to play despite a hamstring injury, while Adrian Peterson was one of the top fantasy performers as the Vikings improved to 6-2 and now are tied with the Packers atop the NFC North.
Mike Zimmer was not happy with the Rams on Sunday, as he felt the team had some dirty plays and cheap shots on the Vikings. Teddy Bridgewater was knocked around on Sunday and he had to leave the game with a concussion. According to Pro Football Talk, Bridgewater is in the concussion protocol and he will have to pass some tests to suit up for next week. PFT reports that sources said the Bridgewater said he felt "fine" and that he could have returned to the game if needed.
Bridgewater took an elbow to the head and also hit his head on the ground in the second half of the game against the Rams. The Vikings hit the road for a game against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday and then they have a major game with the Packers the following week. The Vikings and Packers are each 6-2 this season and the Vikings are currently 3-0 in the division, while the Packers are 1-0 in the NFC North.
Ian Rapoport at NFL.com reported on Monday that Bridgewater is "feeling much better" and that if he is cleared, he will play against the Raiders next week. Shaun Hill would be in line to start of Bridgewater is out. Bridgewater has been solid this season for the Vikings, but he has not put up any eye popping stats, although it has been enough to give the team a 6-2 start. Bridgewater had 14 touchdowns and 12 interception in 13 games last season and he is about on that same track with six of each through eight games this year.
Stefon Diggs came into the week dealing with a hamstring injury and that may have hampered him a bit in Week 9. Diggs had his weakest game of the season with three receptions for 42 yards, but the Vikings were able to win despite his slow day. Diggs had put up some record numbers in his first four games, as he had at least six catches in each game and went for at least 85 yards in all four, including a career best seven catches for 129 yards against the Chiefs.
Adrian Peterson continued his strong comeback season, as he had 125 rushing yards and one touchdown on 29 carries. Peterson now has 758 yards this season and he is well on his way to another 1000-yard year after missing all but one game in 2014 while dealing with off the field issues. The Vikings have been one of the surprise teams in the league this season and they are now firmly in the playoff mix in the NFC. Mike Zimmer has the defense playing well and the unit is one of the highest rated in the league heading into Week 10.
