Manchester United will look to stretch their lead at the top of the table to four points when they take on an Aston Villa side growing in confidence with every passing game.
United, who have a great record at Villa Park having lost just two of their last 20 Premier League games at the venue, usurped Chelsea from the top of the table with their 2-1 victory over Arsenal, and will now look to strengthen their hold on the top, with Robin Van Persie very much their go-to man yet again.
The prolific Dutchman has helped United escape from tough situations time and again, be it with his goals or his assists, with Ferguson more than happy to rely on the former Arsenal man, even if he insists United are not a one-trick pony.
"It's a healthy combination we've got," Ferguson said. "Robin has come to us at the right time, no doubt about that. He's got us 11 goals so far.
"I don't think it's a problem relying on Robin. Last year, we lost on goal difference and I don't expect us to lose on goal difference again. I think Robin may make that difference.
"The way young Chicha (Javier Hernandez) has started this season, I'm certain he'll get to 20 goals plus. He's on six and he's getting back to where he was a couple of years back.
"The summer's rest has helped him enormously and he's looking fresh and aggressive in his running. The boy is always a handful.
"Wazza (Wayne Rooney) will get there too, he'll get 20 goals plus I'm sure."
While United's defense has looked shaky this year, their prowess going forward is undoubted, with the Red Devils capable of coming back from going a goal or two down time and again.
United will be without Nani, who picked up a hamstring problem during their 3-1 win over Braga in the Champions League, while Jonny Evans is doubtful.
"We're hoping Evans will be okay for Saturday," Ferguson told reporters. "He's a doubt, although not a serious one.
"Nani is out with a tight hamstring and that will be around 10 days but he should be okay. It's not torn, just tight."
If Evans is ruled out, Chris Smalling, who played his first match this season against Braga, will have to step in. "We're monitoring the situation with Jonny," Ferguson added. "If he doesn't make it then Chris will have to play.
"It's asking a lot for him to play Wednesday and then Saturday. The great thing is that he's back and there are no issues with him at all. He did very well on Wednesday -- we were pleased with that."
For Villa, midfielder Karim El Ahmadi returns after serving a one-match ban, but defender Eric Lichaj is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the 1-0 win against Sunderland.
Darren Bent has been ruled out while left-back Joe Bennet is struggling to be fit for the game.
