Manchester United is fourth on the Premier League table as the schedule moves into November and one reason for the success this season has been keeper David de Gea. The goalkeeper nearly moved to Real Madrid at the summer transfer deadline, but instead he ended up signing a new deal to stay at Old Trafford when the transaction did not happen.

De Gea was originally dropped by manager Louis Van Gaal as the first team goalie before the proposed move happened, but the paperwork for the deal to Real Madrid did not get finished in time. De Gea spoke with the BBC about the move and Van Gaal, saying that after he returned, the manager "told me I would play, to relax and keep doing what I had done before."

De Gea added that he is "happy" to be with Manchester United and that he feels "loved by the fans" at Old Trafford. The first game of the season for de Gea was against Liverpool in September and the club won that match 3-1 at home. De Gea has played in eight games in the Premier League this year and has recorded 23 saves and five clean sheets for Man United.

De Gea has been playing well this season for Manchester United and he has only been in net for one loss for the team this season, a 3-0 defeat against Arsenal. De Gea has played in two draw results and Manchester United has won five with him in net. The team is fourth on the Premier League table heading into the middle of November and games will pick up after the World Cup qualifiers end.

Man United has seven wins this season, three draws and two losses this year and they are in fourth with 24 points. Manchester City is leading the league with 26 points and the most goals scored, while Arsenal is in second with 26 points. Leicester City is third on the league table with 25 points.
