The San Francisco 49ers will be one of the many teams preparing to undergo a face lift in the offseason. The team has simply not looked like they intended to this year with just three wins to their name. As a result, things could be changing on the roster with big names on their way out. Anquan Boldin is one of the many veterans preparing to hit free agency and he is making it clear he would rather return to the Bay Area than head off into retirement.

According to Boldin, retirement is not in his plans despite being 35-years-old. The receiver has every intention of returning in the short-term following a hamstring injury and the long-term after being asked if retirement was in his plans coming up. While telling the San Jose Mercury News that "no, this isn't the end," Boldin admits he has not heard anything in regards to getting a contract extension. The receiver is playing out the final year of his deal and wants to return to the 49ers, but will they bring him back as they undergo personnel changes.

According to ESPN.com, the 49ers' roster will change and it could be headlined by Colin Kaepernick on his way out along with Boldin not returning. The quarterback has been benched with Blaine Gabbert getting named the starter. According to Boldin he is not thinking about the changes on the roster in the short-term or long-term future.

"In Arizona, one year it was Josh McCown, Sean King and then Kurt Warner, then it was Kurt Warner and Matt Leinart. It's nothing new to me," Boldin said, via the San Jose Mercury News.

For now, Boldin joins a long list of 49ers players needing to get healthy in the bye week. The receiver told the media that he fully intends to play against Seattle in Week 11 noting that the hamstring issue was an isolated incident that will not keep him off the field for too long.

"For me, it's an isolated incident," Boldin said. "I've been durable over my career. I haven't missed a game since (the 2012 regular-season final) and that was because we'd already secured a playoff spot. I'm not worried about my durability or health, at all."

The 49ers are also hoping that Carlos Hyde can return to the field. The running back is dealing with a foot injury that has caused him to miss the past few games. The 49ers have made several roster adjustments following Hyde and Reggie Bush's season-ending injury. If the running back cannot get on the field, the newly signed Travaris Cadet will get the nod for Gabbert as they play a much better team than the Atlanta Falcons.
