Manning has struggled all season long however it appears that the Broncos star quarterback has had some lingering injury issues that could have been the cause of his ineffectiveness.
Manning apparently has had plantar fasciitis all season long and a tear to his left plantar fascia got him benched in Sunday's week 10 game. Manning could barely walk on after suffering the injury and it affected his game tremendously.
Manning broke Brett Favre's all-time passing yards record early in the game however he was soon benched for Brock Osweiler as he finished with just 35 passing yards and only completed 5 passes on 20 attempts. Manning has 9 touchdowns and 17 interceptions so far this season making the Broncos question whether or not he can still be a truly effective quarterback in the NFL.
At the end of the day Osweiler finished the game completing 14 out of 24 passing attempts, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Osweiler will likely remain the starter until Manning is fully healthy however he could steal the starting job for good if he strings together a couple of solid performances while Manning is out.
The Broncos get an easier week 11 matchup against the Chicago Bears and former head coach John Fox before facing the unbeaten New England Patriots in week 12.
