With rumors circulating of a possible return of Phil Jackson, the Los Angeles Lakers will try to keep their focus when they welcome the visiting Sacramento Kings Sunday at 9:30 p.m. ET.

The Lakers are off to a 2-4 disappointing start to their season. With the additions of superstars Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, expectations were sky high for Los Angeles to contend for another NBA title, but a 1-4 start cost coach Mike Brown his job.

"It was sad to see Mike go, but we just got to keep moving forward. We have to stay together," Howard said. "It's early in the season, and we're still trying to learn each other's game.

"Expectations are very high for this team. Management did what it had to do. It's on us to try to get better every day and continue to play hard and string some wins together."

Meanwhile, the 2-4 Kings are coming off a 97-86 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Friday.

Guard Marcus Thornton has appeared in three of those games and averaged 25.0 points on 56.0 percent shooting while DeMarcus Cousins has double-doubles in four of his last five games against Los Angeles.

The team will be without draft pick Thomas Robinson as he completes a two-game suspension for elbowing Detroit's Jonas Jerebko during a 105-103 victory Wednesday.
