Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez put in another sparkling performance to help his side to a comeback 3-2 win over Aston Villa, and the Mexican striker, who definitely scored two goals, insists the own goal given to Villa defender Ron Vlaar should go his way as well.
If the third goal, which saw the striker's effort deflected in off Vlaar, is given to Hernandez, it would mean a hat-trick for the Mexican.
"I've seen the replay and I think it's going on target," Hernandez told the club's official website. "The defender tried to get it away but I think he kicked it in the same direction as I shot."
Hernandez, who took the matchball at the end of the game truly believing he had scored all three goals, came on at halftime to change the course of proceedings, first opening the scoring for his side to cut the deficit to 2-1, before forcing the own goal, and then crucially scoring the winner in the final minutes to hand United what might prove to be another vital comeback win.
The three points meant United extended their lead at the top of the English Premier League table to two points, with Chelsea only managing a draw against Liverpool. City are now the closest to United, after their own comeback win over Tottenham, while the Blues dropped to third, three points behind the leaders.
"It felt unbelievable to score the winner," Hernandez added. "But the most important thing is we get the three points and we're still on the top with a four-point gap. We're very happy."
Hernandez felt the first goal, scored eight minutes after Villa took a 2-0 lead, was crucial to turning the game around. "I think it was very important," he said. "Sometimes you can score late as well and get the three points and that's part of the game, but thankfully we recovered quickly after they got the second one.
"In the history of Manchester United, we never want to give up until the end. The game is for 90 minutes and you need to play until the last minute.
"We need to improve because we're conceding a lot of goals but thankfully we got the three points.
"I have a lot of best moments with this club and this is one of them."
