Buffalo Bills Rumors: Karlos Williams Injury Serious? LeSean McCoy Starter as Sammy Watkins, Chris Hogan Favored Over Robert Woods, Charles Clay

The Buffalo Bills are trending in the wrong direction. The team fell to the Kansas City Chiefs as they lose grip on a potential postseason berth. To make matters worse, injuries are hitting once again as the team cannot seem to stay healthy this year. Karlos Williams is the latest Bills player to deal with an injury issue as the running back is now nursing a shoulder injury.

According to Mike Rodak of ESPN.com, Williams went down with a shoulder injury in the first quarter of the game and was unable to return. The rookie running back has been a star for the Bills this season as he continues to have breakout success. The injury and potential absence for a week does not help Buffalo regain their form even with LeSean McCoy looking fine as the workhorse back. It is unclear if Williams will miss time, but the Bills know just how important he is to the team.

"Doug and I were talking about it, if we knew he was going to be this good we would have taken him higher than the fifth round," head coach Rex Ryan said, via the Democrat And Chronicle. "He had size, speed, and he was tough. He was a great special teams player at Florida State, I mean tremendous. But did we realize what we had? I think in training camp that was when it was like, 'Oh, this kid has some special qualities.' There is no question about it."

If Williams misses time on the field, it will not be a huge issue for the Bills. They can managed with just McCoy in the backfield, but it does put pressure on Tyrod Taylor to throw a little more than usual. The quarterback benefitted from a big game from Sammy Watkins in the loss in Week 12. That has been helpful as both Robert Woods and Charles Clay struggle on the field. However, Watkins along with Chris Hogan have been solid for Taylor to work with as the receiver is proving when healthy, no one can cover him.

"We've got to find ways to get him the football," Ryan said, "because he is that talented and that's a challenge to our staff. Even our quarterback. Let's get Sammy Watkins involved more and regardless of what people play because he is such a talent."
