Kansas City Chiefs News: Justin Houston Suffers Knee Sprain Against Buffalo Bills

Nov 30, 2015 03:58 PM EST

This injury could have major ramifications with the playoffs approaching. Star outside linebacker Justin Houston suffered a knee sprain for the Kansas City Chiefs

Houston suffered a similar sprain against the Colts in the playoffs. Even though this injury is minor comparatively to what was feared it could still take 1-4 weeks to get Houston fully recovered from the injury, meaning that he will miss several big games and the Chiefs will likely have to make the playoffs without him. Without Houston their best pass rusher is Tamba Hali but it will take more than just one person to replace Houston.

The Chiefs will face the Oakland Raiders twice, San Diego Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, and the Cleveland Browns for the remainder of the season. With such a favorable schedule it would be a shame for the Chiefs to lose games thanks to this injury.

Now the Chiefs will look to replace Houston's productivity while he is out at for at least 1-4 games. One silver lining for Kansas City is that they won their game against the Buffalo Bills largely without Houston as he suffered his injury early in the first quarter. This could be a sign that the Chiefs will continue to be strong defensively even without Houston.
