The NY Giants and New York Jets are playing on the NFL schedule in Week 13 and the matchup of AFC-NFC teams is a big one as both try and stay in the playoff race. The game will be on CBS starting at 1 pm ET and will be from MetLife Stadium as a home game for the Giants.
The Giants come into the game after a tough loss against the Washington Redskins and that put the team at 5-6 heading into Week 13. The Giants could have taken control of the NFC East division and now the Redskins have the lead and will play the Cowboys on Monday. The Giants want to rebound to stay in the playoff race and the Jets are looking to do the same in the AFC.
The Jets are aiming for the wild card and they have a 6-5 record after winning last week against the Dolphins and will be looking to get another victory. The last time the two teams played the Giants won on Christmas Eve and got a 99-yard touchdown from Victor Cruz that helped spark the team into a run that led them to the Super Bowl.
The Giants went down 20-0 to the Redskins and ended up losing 20-14 and now the team has to find a way to bounce back Odell Beckham made another amazing catch as the Giants tried to rally, but things fell short despite nine receptions for 142 yards from OBJ. Eli Manning has been playing well for the Giants this season and Beckham comes in hot, making 30 catches for 481 yards with five touchdowns.
Darrelle Revis will be out for the Jets and that could lead to another big game for Beckham and he likely will be the top target for Manning on Sunday. The Jets are among a group of 6-5 teams in the AFC and a win would give the team a boost in trying to keep up with Houston and Kansas City in the playoff chase. The team likely will not catch the Patriots in the division and that makes a wild card spot the only ticket to the postseason.
Manning has put up strong numbers this season for the Giants with 3021 passing yards and 23 touchdowns and nine interceptions, while Ryan Fitzpatrick has 20 TDs and 11 interceptions. Beckham has put up big numbers for the second straight year with 72 catches for 1005 yards and nine touchdowns. Brandon Marshall has come on strong for the Jets and he has 71 catches for 931 yards and nine touchdowns this season.
