The Indiana Pacers and Dallas Mavericks are both injured clubs, but they carry on and will go head-to-head at 7 p.m. ET.
The highlight in this match shouldn't be the injuries, even though they have affected these two teams greatly. I will choose to focus on the fact that we will witness Darren Collison back in the city where he spent the past two seasons.
During the offseason, Collison was traded away to the Mavericks and he is having a wonderful season so far.
I was given heat for saying Collison has been a better point guard this season than Jeremy Lin, but I'll stick to my comments. He is average 14 points. 6.7 assists, one steal per game while shooting 48% from the floor and 44% from three.
The Pacers are off to a rough start posting a 3-6 record in their first nine games of the 2012 season.
They have missed Danny Granger to say the least and have to step it up before they fall too far behind in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks and Bucks headline the conference standings as they have been hot at the start of the season.
Hopefully for the Pacers they can improve as teams above them will eventually digress as the season progresses.
