San Diego Chargers
Danny Woodhead/Melvin Gordon (Running Back): With Gordon being benched for fumbling a season high 6 times the backfield is looking more and more like Danny Woodhead's too lose. Woodhead has been mediocre in the passing game for a couple of weeks now he should look to step things up as they face the Chiefs for the second time. In the first game between these two teams the Chiefs held Gordon to 37 yards on 15 rushing attempts and Woodhead to 6 rushing attempts for 7 yards plus receptions.
Antonio Gates (Tight End): The Chiefs give up the fewest points to tight ends and this spells bad news for Gates. Not only is Gates the main option in the passing game but he is pretty much the only option, and for that sole reason he might squeak out some production. In Gates last matchup with KC he only caught 1 target for 6 yards.
Kansas City Chiefs
Jeremy Maclin (Wide Receiver): The first time Maclin faced the Chargers he caught 3 of his 6 targets for 29 yards. The Chargers still give up the 5th fewest points to wide receivers so I would not be that surprised to see Maclin struggle here.
Charcandrick West/Spencer Ware (Running Back): This is where the roles were written for these two backs. Back in week 11 both of these running backs played and Ware annihilated the Chargers with 11 rushing attempts, 96 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Ware was the goal line back and West was left to early down duty as West only recorded 16 yards on 11 attempts but did haul in some targets as well. Ware looks like the better option as he is the goal line back.
Travis Kelce (Tight End): The Chargers have allowed the 8th most fantasy points to tight ends this season. In their last matchup Kelce only hauled in 5 of his 7 targets for 46 yards. The Chargers have lost a few playmakers since that game but Kelce should produce similar numbers.
