NY Knicks Rumors: Kristaps Porzingis, Jerian Grant Success Make Jose Calderon, Derrick Williams Trade Targets? Carmelo Anthony, Robin Lopez Frustrated

Consistency has not been on the New York Knicks' side this season. The team is hot and cold showing potential at times while getting blown out other days. Still trying to rebuild a better roster, the trade deadline could see the Knicks getting active as they keep trying to stay focused on the future. With frustration getting high among players like Carmelo Anthony and Robin Lopez, will the Knicks seek out trade deals?

New York has some assets they could afford to get rid of at the deadline in order to build for next season. One position that might come into focus is the point guard spot which has Jose Calderon starting and Langston Galloway and Jerian Grant coming off the bench. According to the New York Daily News, Calderon is not going anywhere. The veteran point guard has head coach Derek Fisher in his corner while also having a contract unwanted by most teams. That leaves Grant and Galloway with the later potentially being the odd man out.

According to FOX Sports, if someone is getting dealt it might be Galloway. The second-year star is at times the most productive player coming off the bench while also falling into serious scoring slumps. With players like Sasha Vujacic helping pick up the slack, Galloway needs to improve or he risks getting moved.

The New York Daily News reports that both Derrick Williams and Kyle O'Quinn could also join the trade talk in the coming months. The Knicks are benefitting from an improving Kristaps Porzingis who took Williams' job as a starter. Lance Thomas and Lou Amundson have been picking up the slack with the reserves. Signed to very team-friendly contracts, both Williams and O'Quinn could be desirable targets for other teams looking for an upgrade in size.

One thing is certain, the roller coaster season in New York will continue. The Knicks have taken some ugly losses this season and Anthony admits he is very frustrated. While he and Porzingis continue to gain great chemistry on the court, the Knicks are still not benefitting from it. Anthony spoke to the media about his frustrations and his hope that the losing does not continue with the franchise.

"I don't want (losing) to be an ongoing feeling where we come into the locker room and have to explain why we're losing basketball games," Anthony said, via the New York Daily News. "From that aspect, it can be frustrating. Things happen on the court I thought should have went my way. That can be frustrating at times. It seems it's starting to become repetitive now."
