Marcus Mariota suffered a mild knee/MCL sprain in week 15 against the New England Patriots. Since Mariota has suffered a knee injury already this season he could be shut down for the rest of the season.
The Titans play the high powered Houston Texans defense next week so it might be time for Zach Mettenberger to come in and play clean up.
Mariota after all is the Titans franchise quarterback and after seeing what happened to RGIII in Washington the Titans should be extra cautious with their young signal caller. Mariota has had an impressive rookie season recording 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also had a 62 percent completion rating which is pretty good for a rookie quarterback.
The Titans should really be looking to lose their last two games as they would likely get a top draft pick and they are desperate for help at just about every position.
The Titans could use a true number 1 wide receiver who can stretch defenses and make the big plays that Kendall Wright cannot. The Titans drafted Dorial Green-Beckham who is slowly coming into his own however he needs some help. The Titans could also use some help on the offensive line as Mariota's health should be the Titans primary concern.
