Johnny Manziel has a new video making headlines however this one does seem a bit tamer than those he has posted in the past.
The Cleveland Browns seem to be tremendously sensitive about all of the social media content Manziel engages in especially if they cast their young quarterback in a negative light. Manziel has been seen partying in clubs and everywhere in between but in this recent video he is seemingly in his house or another house that has a Mike Evans jersey hanging on the wall. Manziel is holding a Four Loko alcoholic beverage however he does not drink it in the video.
Pettine was hesitant to discuss the video and Manziel as he "did not have all the facts". Manziel spent 10 weeks at a drug/alcohol treatment facility in January in order to get his public image under control. Fast forward to the end of the 2015 season and players and coaches seem to be divided on where exactly Manziel stands.
Donte Whitner was quoted in saying "we have a starting quarterback for next year" however the Browns have been rumored to want to move on from Manziel either by trading him or releasing him in the off season. In line for another top draft pick the Browns could easily take another quarterback early and move on from Manziel.
If players like Ryan Fitzpatrick and Sam Bradford are not resigned then they could also be potential replacements. The reality of the situation is Manziel is still fresh out of college and will only mature with experience, both in life and on the field. The Browns clearly do not want to micromanage his life however they also want a quarterback they don't have to worry about. Pettine will still talk to Manziel in private however even he recognizes that the situations are completely different.
In the video Manziel is also wearing a "Merry Manziel" Christmas sweater that is clearly from a year ago. Currently there is also no proof Manziel uploaded this himself as a tipster appeared to bring it to the website Busted Coverage. The fact of the matter is the only thing the Browns should be talking about to Manziel is how badly he needs singing lessons.
