Robert Griffin III has seemingly fallen off the face of the map this season. He has caused no drama or turmoil with the team as the Redskins prepare for their wildcard matchup. Instead RGIII has become a standard of excellence in the Washington community as well as abroad.
He focuses on his charity work and developing himself as a football player. RGIII is seemingly humbled which means he is ready for another shot. On the very top of RGIII's list of places he would like to go if he were a free agent is Dallas.
The Cowboys have had infamously bad luck with their backup quarterbacks this season and it is clear that plenty of backup quarterbacks are licking their chops to take Matt Cassel's spot right behind Tony Romo on the depth chart. RGIII is not a backup quarterback, he is a starter who lost his way thanks in part to his own arrogance, the Redskins coaches awful development plan, and an offensive line that had more holes than Swiss Cheese. RGIII has had a full season of rest and recovery time meaning that he will likely be healthiest he has been since he first entered the league.
RGIII's two ACL surgeries are concerning sure but we have already seen the level of production that should be expected in Sam Bradford. Bradford had two ACL surgeries as well and has become a suitable starter for the Philadelphia Eagles. Even Griffin's family would like to see him end up in Dallas as his uncle wore a customized RGIII Cowboys jersey on the sidelines during their week 17 matchup.
RGIII versus the Washington Redskins in any capacity would be must see TV, this should only add fuel to the fire of one of the NFL's most storied rivalries.
