The Tampa Bay Buccaneers need a cornerback in the worst way and after seeing their defense give up leads all season long the Buc's might be ready to invest their 9th overall pick in one. The Bucs are going after a cornerback that's a no brainer but will it be in free agency or in the 2016 NFL draft?
The draft may end up being just as expensive as a free agent cornerback because the Buc's will be unable to pick up a much needed offensive lineman with their first pick. With Sean Smith, Josh Norman, and Janoris Jenkins all free agents the Bucs should dig deep into their pockets to pay one of these guys to help them out on the backend.
Picking a top flight corner in the draft will be difficult as the 9th overall pick, Hargreaves III, Ramsey, and Mackensie should all be gone by then so free agency or trading up for a lockdown corner would make sense. The Buc's could also use a defensive end and Jason Pierre Paul, Olivier Vernon, and Muhammad Wilkerson are all free agents. The Buc's will have the same problem they have at cornerback except there are a couple more first round DE's than corners.
The Bucs could select Emmanuel Ogbah, Jonathan Allen, or Shaq Lawson, DeForest Buckner and Joey Bosa should be gone by the time the Buc's are on the board. The last need is obvious, offensive line. The Bucs would be wise to select several offensive linemen in this draft. Laremy Tunsil will likely be off the board but Taylor Decker and Jack Conklin are legitimate options.
The Bucs could also pick an offensive lineman in free agency such as Evan Mathis, Alex Boone, or Manuel Ramirez. The Buc's should do the most in their power to help protect Jameis Winston.
