The St. Louis Rams saw their first round pick from the 2015 draft, Todd Gurley, rise to the top of the running back ranks. Now the Rams need to make sure their offensive line can run block effectively something that was a huge issue in the 2015 regular season.
The Rams could end up grabbing an offensive lineman if there is highly rated one left on their draft board. The Rams also need a wide receiver however first off they are going to need a quarterback. First round prospects Connor Cook and Carson Wentz should be suitable options for the franchise moving forward as it is doubtful they would want a reunion with Sam Bradford. If the Rams indeed stick to selecting a wide receiver they might be looking at a player who is graded between the first and second rounds; players such as Josh Doctson, Michael Thomas, or Corey Coleman.
The Rams could also take a chance on a free agent such as Rishard Matthews or Jermaine Kearse who have shown a ton of promise in the 2015 season. The Rams have more than $37 million in cap space so they will likely attempt to resign cornerback Janoris Jenkins while either picking an offensive tackle in free agency.
If Jenkins leaves then the Rams will likely have to replace him which would mean targeting one in the draft or free agency. With the top three corners likely to be taken by the time the Rams pick, they could focus on 2nd round talents such as Kendall Fuller, Eli Apple, and Tre'Davious White. If the Rams decide to replace Jenkins in free agency they will have multiple options to choose from such as Prince Amukamara, Jerraud Powers, and Sean Smith.
The best course of action for the Rams would likely be to solidify the offensive line so both running and passing can be a possibility.
