The NFL draft is set for most of the first round and players like Joey Bosa, Jared Goff, Laquon Treadwell, Ezekiel Elliott, Paxton Lynch, Laremy Tunsil, Shaq Lawson, Ronnie Stanley, Mackensie Alexander and Myles Jack could be potential targets for teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, Chargers, Titans, Bears and 49ers.
The draft class for 2016 is a deep one at a number of positions and there are some very strong prospects that will go in the first round. The Tennessee Titans have the number one overall pick this year ahead of the Cleveland Browns and that means Cleveland will have the chance to take a quarterback if they want to. The Titans just drafted Marcus Mariota last year, so it's very unlikely that they will go for another QB in 2016.
The Browns pick second ahead of the San Diego Chargers, while the Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars round out the top five. The Baltimore Ravens pick at number six, while the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Giants finish out the top 10. The Titans have some interesting options at number one overall, as the team has needs all over the roster after going just 3-13 this past season.
Mariota was hit quite a bit behind a porous offensive line and that could lead the Titans to target prospects like Laremy Tunsil and Ronnie Stanley. Dane Brugler at NFLDraftScout.com has Tunsil rated as the top offensive lineman in the draft and that could lead the Titans to go after the Ole Miss product. The team needs to upgrade on both sides of the ball and if the Titans want someone on defense, Ohio State star Joey Bosa could be the selection.
The Browns pick at number two and after the way things went with Johnny Manziel this season, many have speculated that Cleveland could go after a quarterback. The QB class for 2016 is a deep one, but it is also top heavy with players like Jared Goff and Paxton Lynch. Players like Carson Wentz, Connor Cook, Christian Hackenberg and Kevin Hogan will also be around later in the draft, but scouts are very high on Goff and that could lead the Browns to make the Cal QB their selection.
The Chargers are sitting in solid position at number three, as they can go for the top talent available on the board based on what the Titans and Browns do. The team would be thrilled to get Bosa at number three, as many scouts say he has the talent to be a number one overall pick. The team also could consider players like Laquon Treadwell, Jalen Ramsey or Stanley at number three.
The Dallas Cowboys pick at number four and if somehow Goff slips past the Browns and the Chargers, expect the Cowboys to strongly consider taking the QB. Lynch also could be a target, but Treadwell may be someone the team goes after if they can't get Goff. The Cowboys likely will take a QB at some point to develop behind Tony Romo, but a player like Treadwell could be too good to pass up, especially after Dez Bryant dealt with injuries this season.
Predictions:
Titans: Joey Bosa
Browns: Laquon Treadwell
Chargers: Laremy Tunsil
Cowboys: Jared Goff
Jaguars: Jalen Ramsey
