The Notre Dame Fighting Irish fly west where they will meet the USC Trojans at 8 p.m. ET for some primetime NCAA College Football action between two of the sports most storied programs.
The Fighting Irish enter this matchup as the No. 1 ranked team in the nation. They have gone a perfect 11-0 so far in the season and look to continue making the Trojans look like a struggling team.
USC is now 7-4 in the season following loses in three out of their last four games.
Last week, they lost to their city rival UCLA as they were defeated 38-28. That is not the only thing they have lost over the course of the season.
The Trojans came into this season ranked No. 1 in the nation, but that is no longer so and Notre Dame has risen out of the ashes to claim the top spot in the rankings.
They have the toughest and stingiest defene in the FBS as they come into this matchup ranked No. 1 giving up just 10 points a game.
That equals to just a touchdown and a field goal when you do the math.
The Fighting Irish do not possess the most potent offense in the FBS, but they don't need it with this defense. Their rushing and passing game will not overwhelm the Trojans as they average just over 400 total yards of offense per game.
USC will try to disrupt this potent defense with their passing game as they are ranked 20th in the FBS with 307 passing yards per game.
The Trojans will look to stop their skid, meanwhile, the Fighting Irish will look to continue their winning ways.
If the Trojans give up more than 24 points, which is what they're averaging, their chances of winning might go out the windown.
