The New Orleans Saints host the San Francisco 49ers in their Week 12 matchup with kickoff at 4:25 p.m. ET.

The 49ers are all alone in first place and commanding the NFC West as they continue to have on of the best records in the NFL. Meanwhile, the Saints are trying to catch up to the rest of the elite teams as they are right at .500 with a 5-5 record.

The Saints' defense has given the deadly offensive just enough room to work with as they have won five out of their last six games and crawled their way back to .500.

In the first four weeks of the season, the New Orleans defense gave up 32.5 points per game. In their last three, their defense has only allowed 19 points per game.

Their offense seems to put up at least four touchdowns every single game as Drew Brees continues to toy with opposing defenses. He has the Saints with the 3rd best passing offense in the league and they are 5th in scoring averaging just under 29 points per game.

They will be challenged by the 49ers defense which posts one of the best defensive combos in the Smith brothers, Aldon Smith and  Justin Smith are terrorizing quarterbacks week after week.

A. Smith leads the league with 15 sacks and three forced fumbles.

Their secondary might not be what they were last year with all those interceptions, but they can still create chaos as they have allowed the 2nd fewest passing yards per game with 183. Most importantly, their defense gives up the fewest points per game as teams are averaging just under 14 points per game.
